Zinsser Cover Stain is an interior and exterior primer, sealer, stain sealer and bond coat that dries for recoat in only two hours.
On interior surfaces, Cover Stain dries quickly and has great hiding power providing outstanding stain killing and enamel undercoating performance. Stains of all kinds are permanently sealed so topcoats are blemish free.
Cover Stain is especially effective on nicotine and water stains. New wood trim can be primed, sanded and topcoated the same day, saving time and money.
On exterior surfaces, Zinsser Cover Stain has a unique formulation that delivers full penetration and flexibility on all surfaces, especially dimensionally unstable wood paneling and trim, where few oil-based primers can succeed. Cover Stain resists cracking and peeling and is compatible with all decorative top coats.
Zinsser Cover Stain offers outstanding adhesion. It sticks to all surfaces – even hard-to-paint surfaces like glossy enamel paint and varnishes, Formica, ceramic tile, PVC, weathered wood – even glass – without sanding or deglossing. It’s a great base coat for metal cabinets and bookcases, panelling, tile and other surfaces when an oil-base primer is desired.
